"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.” CS Lewis.

"A very public nervous breakdown..."

Revnant Dream, the alias of a frequent commenter on a number of Canadian conservative blogs, SDA and Ezra Levant in particular, has characterized the public response to Sarah Palin, (vice-presidential nominee for Republican presidential aspirant John McCain), of the democratic left and the MSM in the US as being a "very public nervous breakdown". The level to which posters on Youtube, the blogosphere, and the liberal talking heads of CNN and others have degraded to is fast becoming unbelievably sleazy. They are truly afraid of this woman.

The vitriol has gotten so bad, Olbermann was sent to New York to cool his jets, and Obama runs a very real risk of not being able to turn it off.

Many say that this is just the true character of the liberal left coming out - I fear they are right. The ideological contradictions abound, as they try to find something about Gov. Palin that is so wrong. In the meantime, they show themselves for what they really are: bigoted, misogynistic, even racist, spoiled elitists. The reflected ugliness looks good on them; they've had it coming for a long time.
